For Missoni's Spring 2024 show during Milan Fashion Week, the runway had a canopy of chrome.
"Huge inflatable silver spheres created by artist Shawn Kolodny were suspended from the ceiling of the Missoni show venue," Vogue reported, in a space padded in plush white. Creative director Filippo Grazioli said he wanted "a sort of put-together weightlessness" for the collection.
The installation, part of Shawn's Spheres of Influence series, played with reflection: the mirrored surfaces caught the models, the guests and the room itself. As Shawn put it, "My work does the same thing, it takes you and brings you back to yourself, with a little twist."
