Pro tip: Use nano tape between the ball layers to keep the balls together for extra security. Remember, avoid the seams!

To correctly inflate your BIG Shiny Balls®, use the pump until they are firm to the touch but still offer some flexibility. Be cautiousnot to over inflate, which can be indicated if the balloon becomes overly hard. A well-inflated balloon should have its wrinkles, especially around the seams, mostly disappear. If you still notice some wrinkles along the seams, it's safe to add a little more air. However, it's important to keep checking the firmness to ensure you're not over inflating the balloon.

All our BIG Shiny Balls® come with an adjustable valve that regulates the flow of air. When the valve is open, air can move in both directions, leading to potential deflation when the pump is removed. However, once the valve is closed, it becomes one-way, preventing the air from escaping.

There are two types of valves on our balloons. If your valve has a white button, simply push it in to close the valve. If your valve is grey, it needs to be pushed in and then given a 1/4 turn to secure it. Once the valve is correctly adjusted, your balloon should remain inflated even after you remove the pump.

Yes. Our Big Shiny Balls® are specially designed with D-Rings so you can easily attach them to the ground, ceiling, or each other using zip ties or ropes (not included). There are 1-4 D-rings depending on the size.

Sports Balls have rubber rings for attachment, 1-4 depending on the size.

We can also fabricate balls with custom D-ring placements for a fee. Please email hello@bigshinyballs.com for more info about a custom order.

When building stacked installations, pyramids, or backdrop walls with Big Shiny Balls, we recommend using a combination of nano tape and mechanical support for added stability.

Nano tape (a strong double-sided gel tape) works well for temporarily securing balls together. It helps create tension between surfaces and keeps them from shifting during setup.

Best practices:

  • Always apply tape to a smooth surface area, not directly over seams
  • Test placement before fully pressing the adhesive into position
  • Use small, discreet sections for clean visuals
  • Reinforce key connection points with zip ties, fishing line, or wire ties for added safety
  • Anchor the base layer securely before stacking upward

For outdoor installs or high-traffic environments, we strongly recommend adding secondary support lines to prevent shifting due to wind or movement.

Nano tape is helpful for clean structure building, but for maximum durability and safety, always combine adhesive support with physical anchoring.

Don't worry, your ball is meant to have the hole on the outer layer as part of the inflating process. The two layers are not connected and the hole is meant to let out the air between the two layers while inflating. Please DO not cover it.

There could be two potential reasons for this.

First, it could be due to a significant drop in temperature. When it becomes colder, the air inside the balloon contracts, which might result in the balloon appearing wrinkled.

Secondly, it's possible that the balloon's valve may not have been fully tightened after inflation. We provide a special tool (looks like a wrench) with each pump that fits into the valve and can be used to tighten it securely.

In either case, adding a bit more air until the balloon feels firm again should resolve the issue. Always remember to handle your Big Shiny Balls® with care and ensure the valve is properly secured to maintain the longevity of your balloon.

There are two methods to safely deflate your BIG Shiny Balls®, depending on how quickly you'd like to do so:

  1. Slow Method: Simply open the one-way valve (either by pushing or twisting, depending on your valve type) and leave the balloon alone for a couple of hours. Over time, the ball should gradually release air and deflate fully.

  2. Fast Method: Position the ball so that the valve is on the side. Switch the pump hose to the larger side, and connect it as though you were going to inflate the balloon. But this time, the pump will draw the air out. As the balloon begins to deflate, continue running the pump. Once the ball is flat, fold it like a large cigar from one side to the other, with the valve at the far end. After this, fold the deflated ball as you would a bedsheet, moving from the back towards the valve. This helps to push any remaining air towards the valve and out of the balloon. Once fully deflated, leave the valve in the open position.

Cleaning your BIG Shiny Balls®is easy and helps extend the life of your ball. You may use water and a paper towel to clean the balls before and after use. We also recommend using a spray polish to clean them and make them extra reflective. Please follow the instructions on the bottle and wipe with a soft cloth or paper towel as to not damage the outer layer.

Dealing with a damaged a ball depends on the nature of the damage. The outer layer of our BIG Shiny Balls® tends to be more delicate than the inner layer.

  1. Minor nicks or tears: These can often be fixed using clear packing tape. Simply cover the damaged area with the tape to seal it. This is also a useful preventive measure if you notice a seam beginning to peel up.

  2. Seam splits: These usually occur due to overinflation. If this happens, deflate the ball, apply double-sided tape along the seam, align the edges properly, and then re-inflate. Although this might not be a permanent solution, it should allow you to get a few more uses out of your ball.

Always remember to avoid overinflation, it can significantly extend the life of your BIG Shiny Balls ®.

Big Shiny Balls® are easily deflated with the BSB Pump. Then, you may then fold them like a bed sheet or roll them to make them very small.

To keep them from opening up after folding, we wrap them with a clear wrap film with a handle a couple of times around each ball so the ball stays compressed and folded. We recommend storing them in a plastic bin or box with a lid to keep them safe.

ABOUT BIG SHINY BALLS ®

Absolutely! Our Big Shiny Balls® are crafted for repeated use. You can deflate our balloons using the provided pump and conveniently fold and store them away in a box or plastic bin. When you're ready for more fun, simply unfold and re-inflate them.

Proper care is essential for the longevity of your balloons. Avoid overinflation to prevent straining and potential bursting. Instead, inflate your balloons just until they feel firm to the touch.

Yes, the Pump is crucial for inflating and deflating the BIG Shiny Balls®correctly. They have a special valve, a normal pump will not work with these balls.

Our Big Shiny Balls® are built to withstand a wide range of temperatures, from as low as -20°C (-4°F) up to 45°C (113°F). Nevertheless, it is essential to adhere to specific guidelines to preserve the integrity of your balls under varying conditions:

In hot weather or direct sunlight, the balls may expand (remember: air expands when heated and detracts when cooled). To prevent over-expansion, avoid inflating them to their full capacity. Regularly check for firmness; if your ball feels too hard, release some air until the surface is firm yet flexible.

During cold weather, while it is safe to display the balls outdoors, we advise against inflating or deflating them in such conditions. Doing so in extreme cold may potentially damage the balloons.

Significant temperature fluctuations may cause the balls to wrinkle when they cool and require additional air. Similarly, you may need to release some air as temperatures rise.

Pro-Tip for Outdoor Use: Our vibrant, shiny finishes love the spotlight, but extended exposure to direct, intense sunlight can lead to UV fading over time, especially for our brightest colors. To keep your inflatables looking brand new, we recommend placing them in shaded areas or bringing them indoors when not in use for long periods (longer than a few weeks).

Yes! Our BIG Shiny Balls®are designed to be versatile and water-friendly. You can certainly enjoy them as floating decorations in a pool. If you prefer them to stay in a specific spot and not drift around, you can attach a weight to the D-ring(s).

With appropriate care and handling, your Big Shiny Balls®are designed for multiple uses. We've had some of our balls for years and we use them everyday. Key to prolonging their lifespan is avoiding over-inflation and preventing damage to the outer shell. Their durability and reusability are part of what makes our Big Shiny Balls®a great investment.

Our Big Shiny Balls® are unmatched and can stay inflated for weeks to months. They feature a special locking mechanism paired with high quality and durable PVC and mylar.

For matte PVC non-Shiny Balls a regular air compressor will work with the rubber valve.

Yes, all the colors except Black Shiny Balls® are suitable for outdoor use. However, be mindful if they will be exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures, as this can cause the balls to expand (remember: air expands and decreases with high or low temperature changes). If overinflated during these conditions, there is a risk of the seams splitting due to the additional pressure.

To avoid this, always check the firmness of your balls in hot weather and/or at the hottest time of the day. If the ball feels hard, release some air until it regains its flexibility when you press against it.

Note: Black Big Shiny Balls® will pop in extreme heat or direct sunlight. Please only use them indoors or in a covered location away from sunlight.

Yes, you can hang your Big Shiny Balls® provided they're not larger than the 6ft /1.8m. The balls get heavy with size and the D-rings may not hold the weight over long periods of time.  Please follow all the safety rules at your location. Big Shiny Balls® is not liable for any damage from user error.

We leave this up to you the user to decide on the duration, location, and hanging mechanism. If you do hang them, make sure you string through all the D-rings on the sphere for even weight distribution. For example, if a ball has 3 D-rings, make sure your string goes through all of them before attaching. This will ensure the sphere is securely fastened and evenly balanced.

Yes, we can now offer custom UV printing on Big Shiny Balls, Shiny Eggs, Shiny Hearts and Ornaments.

We also offer custom logos for Sports Balls and other PVC material (non-shiny). Please email us for the custom order pricing, timelines, and order availability at hello@bigshinyballs.com with a logo, delivery deadline, and sizes(s) needed.

Big Shiny Balls® also take vinyls very well, and they are easy to get at most print shops (like FedEx). You may print logos, designs, or anything you'd like. Since the surface is curved you sometimes need to cut the vinyls up into smaller pieces for placement. Please print regular cut vinyls.

Sports Balls, Flag Balls, and other PVC items do not take vinyls well and will most likely damage the product.

Please note: Our white UV print balls feature a specialized finish and should be handled with care to maintain the integrity of the printed surface.

BEYOND BIG SHINY BALLS®

Our Big Sports Balls are designed to be lightweight, flexible, and easy to use for interactive displays and themed environments.

They are made from a soft, durable PVC material that feels more flexible than our mirror-finish inflatables. Because they are lighter in weight, they’re easy to move, toss, and reposition during events.

Key features:

  • Lightweight and flexible construction
  • Standard wide-opening valve for easy inflation
  • Compatible with most mattress-style air pumps
  • Reinforced rubber grommets for hanging or securing
  • Compress down small for convenient storage

Since they are flexible, we recommend avoiding over-inflation, especially in warm outdoor environments where air expansion can occur. Because they are lightweight, they should also be properly secured in windy conditions.

Deflation is simple. Open the valve and allow air to release naturally. Once flat, they can be rolled and packed down compactly for reuse.

Available in multiple sports styles, sizes, and colorways.

This quick guide demonstrates how to properly inflate, set up, and handle your Sports Ball, including key tips on valve use, achieving the correct firmness, and preparing the ball for safe and effective installation. See Tutorial Here

Our Big Shiny Beach Balls are constructed from heavy-duty three-layer vinyl engineered for strength and flexibility.

Unlike our signature mirror-finish Big Shiny Balls, which feature a dual-layer build with a reflective outer coating, our beach balls use a single-layer design. This makes them especially well-suited for interactive environments and outdoor activations.

Features include:

  • Durable, thick vinyl construction
  • Compatible with our standard inflation valves
  • Integrated attachment hooks for securing
  • Heat-tolerant material that naturally adjusts in warm conditions
  • Designed to withstand active use in event settings

While they inflate and anchor similarly to our classic inflatables, this material is specifically chosen for crowd engagement, beach-style play, and high-energy installations.

This quick guide covers the 3-ply vinyl material used in select products, including our beach balls, and explains its construction, flexibility, and ideal use cases. See Guide Here

Our Big Shiny Hearts feature the same premium dual-layer construction and reflective finish as our signature Big Shiny Balls, but in a sculpted heart shape.

They use the same specialized locking valve system, which requires the appropriate pump connector for inflation. The valve includes a secure locking mechanism and release feature, just like our round inflatables.

Because of the heart shape, you may notice slight surface creasing along the sides once inflated. This is natural due to the contour of the design and does not affect performance.

Additional details:

  • Dual-layer PVC core with reflective outer finish
  • Specialized locking valve system
  • Designed primarily for hanging displays
  • Two built-in attachment hooks at the top
  • Additional hooks can be added upon request
  • Available in sizes up to 10ft

Big Shiny Hearts are ideal for suspended installations, statement décor moments, and large-scale visual displays.
